About the Founder
Khalida's inspirations are deeply rooted in her childhood in Morocco. As a young girl, she spent countless hours by her grandmother's side, watching in awe as Malala, a skilled artisan, wove magical rugs on the family loom while sharing stories from the past. Khalida was captivated by the ancestral techniques Malala preserved, techniques passed down from her own grandmother.
Driven by a passion to preserve and share the authenticity of Moroccan craftsmanship and the stories that inspired her, Khalida founded a boutique atelier in 2019. This has evolved into MAISON TÓUKKANI in 2024 to accommodate the brand's expanding global presence.
Bridging over a thousand years of craftsmanship with contemporary design, Khalida and her team create exclusive pieces, working closely with clients around the world and local women’s cooperatives they fully support.
With the clients’ dreams at the heart of the creative process, MAISON TÓUKKANI continues to uphold uncompromising quality, innovation, and timeless artistry, pushing the boundaries of traditional weaving into new horizons.
Born in Morocco, raised in Paris and now based in Switzerland, Khalida Toukkani holds a management degree from Paris. Her passion for interior design led her to study upholstery, wood carpentry, and traditional Moroccan MRIRT weaving.
As an entrepreneur, intuitive designer, loving wife and mother of three, Khalida understands the importance of a home as a sanctuary; where each object and thoughtfully chosen element is unique and tells a story, fostering memories that last a lifetime.
